For the last week we had a group of secondary and high school pupils and their teachers visiting the Arctic Station. They were here to experience the arctic and look into the effects of climate change on nature and society. We arranged a whale evening where we told about our project and discussed different whale related topics with the young scientist. They also participated in our field work and we demonstrated our different methods in the field: function of the false ears, underwater camera equipment, biopsy sampling and in the end the students took whale ID-pictures that will be included in our data base. It was great to see to see the enthusiasm of the pupils and we hope that they got useful information and experience out of their visit.
